The site was looking eerily neglected, so I wanted to post an official, public notice to say that stephaniehenderson.com is no longer active and take down most of the pages and information. I’ve left just these blog archives in case you might find them interesting. :)
Should you need to get ahold of me for any reason, you can do so by e-mail at fairgroundmedia at gmail dot com.
Thanks! And appreciate your visiting (albeit a bit late ;).

Somehow just landed at http://nodethirtythree.com and was taken aback by the gorgeous color scheme, great balance of elements, and texturing. Really cool! I guess the site isn’t technically “there” anymore, seeing as how it’s just a 404 page. But I gotta say this is stunning for a website that doesn’t exist.

This woman’s quirky cake idea first hit the press back in 2008, but it was just recently picked up again by AOL news. Article recycling aside, I’m glad I got to see it the second time around.
The “cute factor” of having a cake in one’s own likeness I can understand. Somewhere between the fantasy and reality of the situation, though, I would feel more than a little silly. No doubt people would construe this to say something unflattering of your ego. And, possibly worse, this life-size creation could feed a small country. I say this with confidence since I was just quoted on a wedding cake myself.
To her credit, the original plan was to personify both bride and groom in cake form, and the bakery just ran out of time. No wonder; that thing sure looks like work!

I came across this online portfolio for cornerd and found it pretty charming. It’s another one-page site with the automated scrolling effect. I think all of the little monster characters are very cute. Their eyes are animated, so after they’ve moved side to side a bit and finally look straight back at you, it actually feels strangely engaging. Well done!
Ah! I just love these social media icons by illustrator, Jan Cavan.

I would love to use them in a project sometime… How ’bout yours?

Here we go again. This site, CampMinder, displays illustrated versions of its staff members on its home page. You can hover over them for their names and job descriptions. Love, love it.

Adorable tea packaging concept by designer, Soon Mo Kang.

Sometimes creativity in fashion is kind of perplexing. I can’t help but feel that “drawing outside of the lines,” so to speak, isn’t all that clever when it doesn’t achieve its original goal– which I would assume is attractiveness in this case. Or am I wrong?
Pictures taken from ModCloth.com. To their credit, though, this style seems to be popping up all over the place.
